On 29 January, Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation (S-ILF) organized an outstanding Youth Festival of 150 college students with boys and girls from Leprosy Colonies. It was a remarkable success in terms of integration.
On 30 January SILF put together its first-ever Round Table on Leprosy with a wide ranging Panel of Experts and Eminent Persons.
On the same day, Mr Yohei Sasakawa, WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Leprosy and the Chairman, The Nippon Foundation (TNF) launched the Global Appeal together with Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Law and Justice, IT and Electronics, Mr John Denton, Secretary General, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), President, CII, Mr Rakesh Mittal, Vice President, CII, Mr Vikram Kirloskar and SILF. This occasion was enriched by a message from Ms Dimple Kapadia, film actor and songs by Ms Sonam Kalra.
It was a very successful series of events to build awareness about Leprosy and the importance of doing away with Discrimination
